WHEN IN ROME - MY FAVOURITE CITY

WHEN IN ROME - MY FAVOURITE CITY

I've never met a person that didn't absolutely love Rome. Even in July when it's overcrowded and uncomfortably hot, there are still endless things to adore. I've been lucky to visit Rome several times and am guilty of staying in the same neighbourhood on most of my visits. The streets around Piazza Navona winding through to the Tiber as it takes you across to Trastevere are some of my favourites.

There are two fantastic hotels in this neighbourhood which, if you're a lover of 20th Century Italian design, will tick all of your boxes. Chapter Roma is a new opening that I stayed in earlier this year, with a lovely roof top and view to Vittoriano or Altare della Patria. Just a few minutes from here, and in one of my favourite Piazzas is G Rough, with the most enviable collection of Italian design pieces from Fornasetti to Gio Ponti, Just outside the doors of G Rough is my favourite Enoteca, Cul de Sac, their lemon and pistachio ravioli is always the first meal I have when I arrive in Rome. Not far from here is Santa Lucia which I think has the most photogenic dining room in Rome, their terrazzo floors and faded blue and pink walls I imagine have inspired many interior designers. After lunch or a coffee here you can cross over to Palazzo Altemps where there is always an interesting exhibition showing, or wander down Via dei Coronari where there is a great interior store Hannau Roma - perfect for coveting incredible Murano vases and lights!

A day in Rome is never a bad idea!!
