A first edition three-seater Marenco sofa by Arflex from the 1970s, designed by the talented Mario Marenco and produced by Arflex. Debuting in 1970, this iconic sofa boasts a modular design, composed of individual seat, back, and arm cushions.
The sofa has ben restored and newly upholstered in an Italian check linen fabric. Underlying its plush appearance is an invisible metal structure and a sturdy wooden base, providing both stability and durability.
Mario Marenco, a distinguished figure in the design world, earned his degree at Naples University in 1957 and garnered numerous research awards at prestigious institutions such as Stockholm and Chicago universities from 1957 to 1960. In 1960, he co-founded the DEWG Studio in Rome, focusing on community buildings. During the 1970s, he lent his creative genius to renowned design brands like Arflex, Artemide, Bernini, B&B, and Comfortline.
